Maaliki General Trading was founded in Bakara Market, Mogadishu, in 1995. Today the group runs its own perfume factory, imports from suppliers abroad and serves customers through branches in Mogadishu and across East Africa.
Our story
Maaliki was founded in 1995 in Bakara Market, Howlwadaag District, the busiest trading centre in Mogadishu. The business grew one customer at a time: stocking what people asked for, keeping prices clear and standing behind what we sold.
Over the years we added our own production and grew into a group, with subsidiary companies, business divisions and branches across Mogadishu and East Africa. Our factory makes perfume and body care, and our procurement team sources goods from manufacturers abroad. We sell to shop owners, pharmacies, distributors and individual customers in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti and other East African markets.

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the company’s overall operations, ensuring operational efficiency across all business divisions, and managing the procurement of essential factory materials, including raw materials, packaging materials, production supplies, and other manufacturing requirements to ensure uninterrupted factory operations.
Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the company’s perfume manufacturing facility, including production operations, quality control, workforce coordination, and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsible for managing the company’s international purchasing activities, global supplier relationships, overseas sourcing, international business communications, and coordination with foreign manufacturers and business partners.
